Simon Sharon
Simon brings almost three decades of proven management and leadership experience in operations and research and development of medical devices.
Currently, Simon serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory board at Microbot Medical, an early stage company developing a platform of micro-robots for various medical applications.
Before Microbot, Simon was the Chief Technology Officer at MEDX Xelerator LP, a government supported medical devices incubator in Israel, with a partnership between MEDX Ventures Group, Boston Scientific Corporation, Intellectual Ventures and Sheba Medical Center. Previously Simon was the VP Research & Development at IceCure Medical Ltd., a TASE traded company developing a portfolio of cryogenic ablation systems.
Before his experience with IceCure, Simon served as the CEO and VP Research & Development of Anorad Israel (a business unit of Rockwell Automation). Prior to Anorad, Simon was the Research & Development Manager at Disc-O-Tech Medical Technologies Ltd., a successful orthopedic venture (acquired by Kyphon, and currently part of Medtronic), and before this as the Research & Development Manager at CI Systems.
Simon holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, a MSc. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT where he specialized in motion control and robotics, and an MBA from the Kellogg-Recanati School of Management.
