Case Study
Small Lung Lesion Procedure
Lung cases are considered some of the most challenging to target due to the moving anatomy, and adding to the complexity, the patient presented an extremely small lesion of less than 8mm. Using the XACT ACE® Robotic System, the user was able to reach the small, mobile target with 1mm tip-to-target accuracy in 11 minutes.
PROCEDURE OVERVIEW
The patient presented an extremely small lesion of less than 8mm on the lung. Given the location, the lesion was highly mobile, adding to the complexity of the case.
Using the XACT ACE® Robotic System, the user was able to update the needle trajectory mid-insertion and leverage the non-linear steering capabilities to successfully reach the target despite movement due to respiration.
