Job Brief

The Director of Professional Education will be responsible for providing oversight and leading the development of curriculum, its content, coordination, and delivery of all high-quality professional education and related activities to all internal and external customers (technologists, nurses, physicians, fellows, etc.) supporting the market adoption of the first-to-market interventional radiology hands-free robotic system for percutaneous interventional procedures.

Target niche MedTech markets include (but not limited too): all providers involved in radiology, interventional radiology, oncology, and applicable fellowship programs, including Radiology Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Radiology Centers of Excellence (COE) Hospitals.

There will be a significant preference for a candidate experience with interventional radiology, interventional oncology, image-guidance technologies, imaging, diagnostics and/or early-stage first to market technology scaling Prof-Ed programs, in addition to experience with a pedigree medical device (MedTech) company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage continuing Professional Education programs and content for company products, applications, services and indications for various percutaneous interventional radiology procedures and/or other applications, in accordance with the overall mission and objectives of the organization.
  • Establish partnerships with all stakeholders to serve as ambassadors of the company’s offerings
  • In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, develop the educational, policies, procedures and resources of the Professional Education program that serves as an efficient tool for learner’s experience, competence, performance, and technology clinical, technical and economic value.
  • Provide leadership in all phases of the development of professional education and actively communicate with various committees to recommend related policies
  • Maintain and generate documentation in compliance with regulatory bodies as it relates to the clinical training and education function.
  • Identify professional practice gaps and educational needs of all stakeholder learners.
  • Generate sustained market adoption by engaging, enrolling, and educating Radiology Technicians (RT), Nurses, Physicians, and other allied health providers
  • Manage our clinical relationship and associations with clinical programs and groups for conferences and societies. Promoting our awareness, alignment and integration supporting the advancement of care.
  • Collaborate with marketing to prepare, develop and implement patient awareness, education, web, social media resources and engagement strategies for Direct to Consumer and patient advocacy groups
  • Develop and manage business relationships with workshop, lab facilities, education consultants
  • Maintain current competitive knowledge of existing and impending interventional radiology technologies and disease diagnostic and interventional techniques
  • Maintain clinical bibliographies and registries chronicling and dissemination of key published evidence to partners
  • Incorporate into Professional Education program new developments (i.e. new techniques, materials, and learning/teaching methodologies) for stakeholder continuing education and professional development
  • Ensure compliance with required Accreditation Council / bodies for continuing professional education criterion and policies including the Standards for/form Commercial Support
  • Work cross-functionally with Clinical Affairs, Research & Development and upstream product marketing teams to coordinate the selection and recruitment of KOL faculty to meet educational goals and objectives
  • Support and manage Healthcare Professional Consultants (HPC’s) contracts, education committees, coordinators, curriculum delivery and content
  • Prepare and mange Professional Education budgets and administrative support required to conduct all Professional Education activities (i.e. physical facilities, equipment, T&E, personnel)
  • Maintain compliance for activities that are jointly provided with outside associations, institutions.
  • All other requests from the Executive Leadership team

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Life Sciences, Clinical Education with extensive experience in curriculum development and training
  • Preferable Nursing (RN) or related technical certificate, for example, RT(R)
  • Must have a Clinical/Professional Education background, preferably in interventional radiology/interventional oncology /imaging/diagnostic
  • Ability to work in a fast pace, growing start-up environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of working successfully in a cross-functional team and environment
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing and delivering clinical training and education
  • Knowledge of and experience with regulatory OSHA/Federal/Local requirements
  • Must have and exhibit excellent training and presentation skills in small and large groups
  • Experience building successful relationships with key external stakeholders (physicians, radiology technologists, radiologists, health system administrators, nursing and other allied health professional organization leadership)
